The Story of Lief
Lief is a Dutch word, deriving from the word for love. It gets to the crux of my coaching philosophy which is that change can feel desirable and appealing instead of overwhelming and difficult. Lief is pronounced like the word Leaf in English, so it felt an appropriate name for my holistic wellness business encompassing Yoga and Meditation teaching as well as Life Coaching. The Leaf is the original plant medicine, as it pertains to tea and tea meditation, a practice I profoundly enjoy.
Lief is obviously also an anagram of the word Life, for those high achievers hurriedly typing searches into Google! I come from a corporate background in blue-chip companies so I understand the pressures and constraints that come along with these roles and responsibilities.
As a Cambridge educated linguist and a Neuro-Linguistic Programming Master Practitioner I am sensitive to language and how what we say to ourselves shapes our reality. Lief is the seed you plant, and nurture with compassion and the light of awareness to grow your life into the most beautiful and majestic reality possible, usually far beyond the limits of your own imagination. That's why our motto here is Lief Your Life.
